Christantus Uche Ignites Straightforward Crystal Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Missing key figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure straight passage to the last 16, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This match offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive match.

The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season proved outmatched against a largely second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

Dominance Asserted from the Start

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a straightforward finish.

Youngster Adam Wharton went close soon after, fizzing a long-range shot over the bar. Nketiah subsequently appealed for a penalty after bursting into the box, but the official waved away the appeals.

Ex-Arsenal man did not have wait long to get his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's shot had struck the post.

The home side were clinging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
